Frequently Asked Questions

Q. What are the advantages of joining your service and how do you differ from other services?
A: One of the many advantages of joining Bowes-Lyon Partnership is that we do the leg work for you in terms of finding eligible, accomplished and like minded individuals for you to meet. So there's no need to leave meeting your ideal match to chance, or logging on to internet dating or going on anymore fruitless dates organised by well meaning friends! We bring years of experience into the process and provide a very high level of personal service. We pre-screen candidates, offer a sizeable database to provide recommendations, refine searches through feedback and become confidants in making the right romantic connection. The service at Bowes-Lyon Partnership differs from other introduction services as we pride ourselves on offering a personal service throughout the duration of each member’s membership, not just at the beginning. We will also only take on members who we genuinely believe we can help, meaning our database is full only of the right calibre of single individuals.

Q. How do you find your clients?
A: Our clients come to us in a variety of ways; recommendations of existing clients, through our website, advertising to our target audience and networking.

Q. How do you go about matching clients?
A: We use a combination of tools - including experience and intuition when matching clients. We start with basic demographic information which best suits your select criteria. We then review both individuals' criteria to see if they are well suited as a couple. We match based on commonalities, background, education, religion, location, physical requirements and of course passions and future goals. Members also benefit from the Bowes-Lyon Index™, which is an internal tool that captures and processes our members’ criteria and qualities making the matching process even more efficient and ensuring we do not miss any opportunity.

Q. Can I choose to meet only "geographically desirable" clients?
A: Yes. We understand that geography can be an obstacle for some of our clients; therefore we offer you the opportunity to customise your choices based on a number of criteria including the location of other members.

Q. After joining, how soon will I begin meeting people?
A: Matching typically begins within 10 days of your membership commencing and we would expect you to be on your first date within 2 weeks, depending on your schedule.

Q. Do I get to talk to my Match before meeting?
A: Yes. When we contact you about a potential match and you agree you are happy for us to introduce you, the next step is for the gentleman to make the first telephone call, which is a great opportunity to get to know each other a little better before you potentially meet. If you get on over the phone, we recommend you organise to meet up for a coffee or perhaps a lunch, something light and easy for a first meeting, to ensure there is no pressure on either individual, allowing you both to fully enjoy your date!

Q. What if I meet someone either through you or on my own after joining your service. Can I freeze my membership?
A: Absolutely. We allow you to stop and start your membership to fit around your lifestyle and commitments but freezing your membership also allows you to develop a relationship without feeling the pressure of any time ticking away.

Q. I may be a difficult match. Do you think you can find my other half?
A: That question can be better answered after we have had a chance to speak to you directly. In our experience there is no such thing as a difficult match – as long as your expectations are within reason we are confident that your requests can be satisfied.

Q. What is the next step?
A: If you would like to find out more, we would be delighted to meet for a complimentary and informal chat over coffee. We always do our best to work around your schedule, so for your convenience, we can usually come to you, if you are based in London.
